Welcome to Nepal. Our representative will pick up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day in your hotel to get rid of jet lag. In the evening, you can take a stroll in the streets of Thamel. Before dinner, meet your guide and attend a short trek briefing.
O/N: HotelWe hit the trekking trail on Day 2 itself. Catch an early morning flight to Pokhara. The short pleasing flight of about half an hour offers you great view of mountain peaks on your north. Upon your arrival in Pokhara, board a waiting car and drive to Nayapul -- the starting point of your trek. The drive takes about two hours. Meet your trekking crew, arrange you loads and start hiking right away. After a short walk from Nayapul, we reach a small market of Birethanti which is seated on the confluence of two rivers. After showing our permits, we take the right trail and start walking toward Ghandruk. The walk takes around 5 hours. Ghandruk is a beautiful village on the Annapurna Base Camp trail known for the friendly Gurung people and the magnificent mountain views.
O/N: LodgeWe continue our walk after breakfast. The trail continues upward through Bhainsi Kharka which translates into pasturelands for buffalo. The trail passes through rhododendron forest which blooms all red during spring season. On the trail, you can meet many trekkers coming down from Ghorepani. Tadapani is located on a small ridgetop overlooking the valley below. You can also see Langoor monkeys in the forest. Tomorrow, we will leave the main trail and head toward Bayerka Kharka.
O/N: LodgeWe take the off-beaten path today. The trail passes through a more remote areas of the Annapurna region. The walk is pleasing as the trail passes through lush rhododendron and oak forests. Before tourists started coming, villagers of Ghandruk used this trail to take their herds to higher pasturelands during summer months. The trail offers you majestic views of Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167m) -- the seventh highest mountain in the world. After climbing a ridge to Deurali, the trail goes further up to Bayeli Kharka.
O/N: LodgeThe walk today is on a grassy slope and we will traverse beautiful pasturelands. You will also get opportunity to meet herdsmen and see goats and Dzos -- a crossbreed between cow and yaks -- among others. You can also see different species of pheasants as well as Blue SHeep today. Chistingbung is a small settlement with few lodges.
O/N: LodgeWe make a steady ascent today. The trail passes through alpine meadows and pasturelands. As we continue our walk, we see the summit of Annapurna South rising ahead of us in the horizon. This means we are approaching the Khopra ridge. Wide array of mountains welcome you once you arrive at Khopra ridge. Mount Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna Fang and Annapurna South can be seen in full glory. After lunch, we will take a short walk down Khopra Ridge to a viewpoint, overlooking the Kali Gandaki gorge -- the deepest in the world.
O/N: LodgeWe will visit Khayer Lake, which is popular among trekkers as Hidden Lake, today. The walk is difficult as we will be gaining more than 1,000 meters in altitude today. But the hike is rewarding as the tiny sapphire lake offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South and surrounding peaks. Annapurna South seems like towering right above you. The trail offers many photo opportunities as there are many viewpoints along the trek. After taking pictures and enjoying views around, we start our return walk to Khopra Ridge.
O/N: LodgeAfter our breakfast, we start our return journey. A descent of about an hour will bring us back to Upper Chistibung. We continue our walk on the same trail that we used some days ago to climb to Chistibung. Mountain Dhaulagiri follows you almost throughout the trail. Near Santa village, we come through farmlands and traditional houses. You we also get opportunity to experience everyday life of the local people. Swanta is a small village with a primary school.
O/N: LodgeWe will join the busy Ghandruk-Ghorepani Trek after a walk of around an hour from Swanta. As we started the trek from Ghandruk, we will walk toward Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a beautiful settlement of Magar people. A viewpoint above the village, Poon Hill, is popular among trekkers for mountain views. After having lunch at Ghorepani, the trail is mostly downhill through Banthanti and Ulleri. From Ulleri, we descend to Tirkhedhunga via the famed 3,200 stone steps. Tirkhedhunga is a small settlements with good lodges.
O/N: LodgeLast day or our trek. Today, we will have a leisurely walk to Nayapul. We pass through the villages of Hile and Birethanti where we show our permits at the checkpost. After lunch, we board a waiting car and drive toward Pokhara. In the evening, we will enjoy explore the Lakeside area.
O/N: HotelA short half an hour flight will take us to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be drive to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day in your hotel reminiscing your trek. Or you can take a stroll in the neighborhood to buy souvenirs for your friends and families back home. In the evening, we will organize a farewell dinner for you in a typical Nepali restaurant.
